The History of Wedding Photography
The art of wedding photography has evolved, just as photography has itself, and it has developed much since the first invention of photography way back in 1826. Early photographs that were taken only 14 years later are still intact to this day and some say may be the photos of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert's wedding of 1840. However, back in those days, photography was very new and people and couples were shy to have their wedding photographed. It wasn't until much later that wedding photography became an established art. In the days of the 1840's and 1850's most felt more inclined to pose for a portrait before, or after, the wedding. It wasn't until the late 1860s when couples became more modern and started to pose for pictures in their wedding garments and even occasionally hired a photographer to attend their wedding and take photographs. Photographic equipment was extremely bulky in those days and lighting wasn't easy, so inevitable most wedding photography was done in a studio for the rest of the century. Gradually technology improved and couples started to pose for a single wedding photo at their wedding. Albums started to become more popular as the 1880's came in and a wedding photographer would even occasionally include pictures of the wedding party.
Now the 2010's have come. Extraordinary advances not only in digital photography have risen but also in the ability to share your favorite photos for all your friends to see. Nowadays special photos like wedding shoots and baby shoots have become an important part of a couples journey through life and mark the time of their vows and love, just as the ring itself.
